Join us on March 6th for our latest Public Sector Cyber Session – your opportunity to hear from your peers and to ask questions on today’s pressing issues for you and the UK public sector.
Agenda
In this session we’ll cover:
Public Sector Cybersecurity News Update
Since the new Westminster Government came to power on 4th July of last year a lot has happened in the world of public sector cybersecurity. In this Cyber Session we’ll kick off proceedings by rounding up the latest news which impacts you and your colleagues. Amongst other topics, we’ll look at the NCSC’s Annual Review 2024, the forthcoming Cyber Security & Resilience Bill and the current geopolitical situation and how that impacts you.
Panel discussion
We’ll then move on to a discussion with our customer panel. We’d love to hear what questions you’d like to put to our panellists and so please do make sure to submit them when you register. The topics we’ll cover will include:
-
Fighting Complacency, Securing the Supply Chain & Securing Budget
In its Annual Review for 2024, the National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC) wrote: “The NCSC believes that the severity of the risk facing the UK is being widely underestimated, and that the cyber security of critical infrastructure, supply chains and the public sector must improve. There is a growing disparity between the resilience of our infrastructure and the threat we face. The gap between the threat and the cyber resilience of the UK needs to close as a matter of urgency.”
So how can you go about closing those gaps at a time of stretched budgets. We’ll discuss making the case for investment in continuous improvement in cybersecurity to improve the security of your network and your supply chain.
-
The Weakest Link? – the role of staff in keeping your organisation secure
Are your staff really the weakest link in your cybersecurity?
In a 2023 report, Gartner predicted that “…. by 2025, lack of talent or human failure will be responsible for over half of significant cyber incidents. The number of cyber and social engineering attacks against people is spiking as threat actors increasingly see humans as the most vulnerable point of exploitation.”
Our panel will discuss how they engage their staff in keeping their organisation secure and how to build a culture of cybersecurity awareness.
