A recognised futurist, Rik is actively engaged in research into online threats and the cybercriminal underground. He also investigates the wider implications of new developments in Information Technology, their impact on security, both for the enterprise and for society as a whole, publishing papers, articles, videos and participating in thought-leadership initiatives. Rik has presented his findings at many global events such as RSA, Mobile World Congress, Milken Institute, Virus Bulletin, RUSI and the e-Crime Congress, and is often quoted by media around the world.
With over twenty-five years’ experience in information security, Rik has been with Trend Micro since 2007. Prior to assuming his current role, he served as Security & Privacy Infrastructure Specialist at EDS where he led the security design work for government projects related to justice and law enforcement and as Senior Product Engineer at McAfee focused on network security, intrusion prevention, encryption and content filtering.
Rik Ferguson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wales and has qualified as a Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and an Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP).

Mats Karlsson Landré is a security advisor at Atea Sweden. In this role, he supports all kinds of organizations within a wide range of security challenges, anything from information security via IT security to OT security but also in issues related to physical protection, personnel security, the NIS directive and protective security.
His main focus is on OT security, an area that is now growing exponentially in line with media attention about incidents, increased digitalization of sensitive activities and higher demands for good security in society. Ransomware has been detonated within your infrastructure and your business operations are at a standstill. The servers, workstations, but also the backups are encrypted. Nobody can work anymore. The factories stop manufacturing and the offices are closed. The ransomware operators ask 15 million euro's for the decryption key. At that point, Trend Micro Incident Response is called in to get organisations back on track. Both technical and organisational. And we ensure that it can never come that far again.
Within an incident, my role is to maintain an overview and to communicate clearly with the customer's management team and steer our own forensic investigation team. It’s my job to quickly triage a crisis situation and know how to make the right decisions and take actions. Together with the incident response team we drive our common goal: 'back to business as usual, as quickly as possible'.
